Cobb), and an excellent scuffling celebrity (Evelyn Keyes) whose brother (Nina Foch) has worked on gambling enterprise and you can old an effective corrupt detective (Jim Bannon). Whilst the area uses a common pattern, the new characterizations try fresh plus the performances good enough so you can overbalance. Dialogue was terse and you may topical, preventing the emotional, phoney contact. Uncommon digital camera angles come along now and then to intensify appeal and temporarily stop the attention. Evelyn Keyes takes on the favorable little lady exactly who brings out the new best in him and you will Ellen Drew is the sleek and you will slinky vixen which becomes your on jams. Significant amounts of drinking and you can puffing is done from the the alarmed.” [ several ]
